FDM (BA Fashion : Design & Marketing) is a dynamic and flexible pathway for students who are highly ambitious and motivated to not only create a fashion collection, but also to understand the context of the clothing they create. Students learn not only how to create womenswear or menswear garments, but also how to market them to a consumer with styling, accessories and marketing projects. The course provides a competitive environment that champions originality and innovation and has produced many of fashion′s brightest talents including recent graduates Charles Jeffrey as well as Grace Wales Bonner and Kiko Kostadinov who both received British Fashion Council sponsorship for the SS17 show season.
The course offers collaboration with many external professionals and sponsors, including L′Oréal Professional, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, The Italian Trade Commission, Liberty, Mulberry, 1 Granary, Paul Smith and the V&A among others. Students also have the opportunity to do work placements after their second year and past placements have included Dior, Balenciaga, Margiela, Marc Jacobs and Celine.Graduates have successful careers across the fashion industry, working successfully and influentially to establish their own brands, as company designers, freelancers and consultants.
