BIANCA CORREA SILVA
This collection explores femininity without using a gendered body as a starting point. In the centre of this collection is the questioning of the gender binary in fashion while aiming to be more inclusive of all genders and bodies. The collection has been created with a custom made androgynous mannequin inspired by highly gendered children’s toys such as action figures and dolls.
Restrictive, feminine frill and the active, masculine in disarray are combined to create generous, androgynous garments inspired by The Lady of the Camellias, Marguerite Gautier, and Die Hard’s John McClane. Deep and rich shades of blues and dashes of red clash against green and black to reinforce the play between the masculine and the feminine.
