Embellishment as structure, not decoration.
The collection is personal, encompassing exquisite detail and technique, structure and movement and influenced by dance and Mexican culture.
The designs are a transformation from the beginning stages of a circle skirt expanding into great geometrical forms with detachable structures holding the skirts in suspended movement, representing a beautiful feeling of movement in a permanent shape.
I explored the contrast between spontaneity and structure and created technically complex garments with precise hand beading and construction, resulting in effortless shapes mimicking skirts in movement. The combination of sculptural structures with couture techniques gives an innovative approach to tradition.
