A voyeuristic investigation of different identities and their respective cultural/material phenomena as ethnographic fieldwork formed a singular thought.
‘Clothing is technology of the self.’ The resultant collection and media is part mimetic unification of different archetypal identities, but more so a series of works that manifests clothing as identity ‘technology’. The observable forms and techniques amount to a symbolic structure that out identity is caught up in, somewhere. None of these ideas are meant to be self evident, far from it, the work is formed in a Jazz like riff and much like it’s musical equivalent, has familiar moments, but mostly consists of an abstract balletic aesthetic that one can’t quite put their finger on...
