The collection represents an amalgamation of cheerleaders and that of the Land Girls’ of 1940. The thought has derived from as I got to better know the life-circumstances of the Women’s Land Army and the uniforms started to hold more value than merely presenting itself as clunky-looking pieces of garments. Furthermore, cheerleading which called the “sideline” sport was marked as an unlabored and petty sport, when in reality they were putting in just as many hours of practice other sport players did.The challenge that cheerleaders and Land girls were facing - the publics general consensus of women’s contribution, or lack inspired me to reintroduce the powerful, yet undermined female narrative in my own interpretation of the meaning, “womanhood.”
